Overview
Emburse (formerly Certify) offers a suite of fully-integrated spend management tools. I was hired—as their first designer—to perform customer interviews, create personas and user journeys, and redesign the desktop and mobile apps from the ground up. I also created a comprehensive web-based design system for the front end engineers to easily incorporate desired component styles.

Goals + Approach
The primary goal of this redesign was to instill confidence in end users who were preparing their expense reports. Making the process of adding expenses seamless while insuring users count trust that their reports were accurate. The mobile app had quite a bit of restraint, but it ended up being a visual extension of the desktop app thanks to a design system that we used across the app landscape.
A complete revamp of the Cerfity Wallet, including the merging of expenses and receipts, was core to the redesign. Bringing clarity to the details of the expense/receipt relationship became the priority based on the feedback we collected from users.

Team + Role
As Product Design Manager, I led and coordinated all facets of the redesign—from research, customer interviews, wireframing, visual design, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration.
I led a team of three Product Designers and worked closely with Engineering to understand and adhere to technical constraints while ensuring design standards were met.
